Deep Phase 1 and 2 Liver Detoxification
Phase I Liver Detoxification
Phase I liver detoxification is the first line of defence against toxins. It consists of a group of enzymes known as the cytochrome P450 family. The enzymes help neutralize substances like alcohol and caffeine. However, Phase I liver detoxication alone is still not enough to expel all the the toxins. In addition, Phase I liver detoxification generates by-products which can still pose a toxic threat to the body. If the toxins are allowed to build up and stay in the liver, they can damage DNA and proteins. It is the role of Phase II liver detoxification, to make sure that those toxins do not build up.
Phase II Liver Detoxification
Phase II liver detoxification neutralizes the by-products of Phase I liver detoxification and other remaining toxins. This is done by making the toxins water-soluble and can be excreted from the body. This process is called as conjugation. Glutathione, sulphate, and glycine are the primary molecules responsible for this process. For efficient Phase II detoxification, the liver cells require sulphur-containing amino acids such as taurine and cysteine. The nutrients glycine, glutamine, choline and inositol are also required for efficient Phase II detoxification.
Free radicals are highly reactive molecules that can cause damage to cells, including liver cells. Antioxidants help combat oxidative stress by neutralizing free radicals and reducing their damaging effects. By doing so, antioxidants help protect liver cells from oxidative damage and support the liver’s detoxification processes.
A diet of blackberry, strawberry, red and black raspberry, boysenberry, cherry, blueberry, cranberry and mulberry provide 8000 ORAC of whole food antioxidants.
Replenish Liver Enzymes
Metabolic enzymes are totally different from digestive enzymes. They are produced exclusively by the liver to help all cells, organs, glands and blood attain peak functioning. Metabolic enzymes carry out a variety of cellular functions necessary for survival like digestion, cellular respiration, energy storage, transcription, and response to the environment.
VesPro Live Essence contains 37 types of metabolic and digestive enzymes derived from the fermentation of vegetables and fruits for peak health.
